Job Description

ASRC Federal is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the work with the Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance (C5ISR) located at APG, MD. Individuals must be able to perform all functional duties independently, with limited supervision. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for some flexibility to work remotely. However, it necessitates regular on-site presence at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, to provide support.

Job responsibilities will include:

• Provide systems engineering services and subject matter expertise to validate technical and operational solutions.

• Create test procedures, test cases, test threads, and scenarios to capture measures of effectiveness and performance.

• Ensure comprehensive testing to validate vendor solutions.

• Witness test events and document findings.

• Coordinate engineering reviews for system configurations and operational documentation.

• Review vendor-delivered technical documentation.

• Write technical requirements, engineering documents, configuration management documents, and troubleshooting processes.

• Provide systems engineering inputs to acquisition documentation including Statements of Work, specifications, and government Milestone (MS) C documentation.

• Provide reports of vendor software identified defects, assist with prioritization of vendor issues, and conduct configuration control boards and engineering reviews.

• Support the development of inputs to Request for Information, Request for Proposals, etc., as defined by government stakeholders.

• Provide requirements management and system architecture expertise to ensure traceability of requirements and adequate system architecture documentation.

• Provide Risk Management to ensure system risks are captured, documented, tracked, and mitigated.

• Provide tracking, management, and purchasing support for hardware and software items.

• Assist with the development of training support documentation.

Requirements :

Qualifications :

• 3+ years of experience in a systems engineer role working to assess solutions, develop systems, and support all phases of systems development and deployment process.

• Understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) system engineering processes such as DoD 5000, or DoD’s new rapid software acquisition pathway.

• Have developed solutions for implementations to support complicated data centric problem sets.

• In depth understanding of IT governance policies and methodologies.

• Understanding of systems security requirements for secure operations to meet DoD security requirements.

• Knowledge of systems and network security, auditing, and user authentication.

• Proven expertise in customer engagement, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Understanding of or experience supporting projects with the following technologies: Radio Frequency (RF) Systems, Computing Systems,Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Sensors, Sensor to Shooter Intelligence Exploitation in support of targeting, Software Development (Python, C#, C+, C++)

Clearance Requirement

• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmentalized Information eligibility.

Experience and Education:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Math, IT, Engineering, or related field (Nine (9) + years’ experience may be substituted for Bachelor Degree; Seven (7) + years’ experience plus Associate Degree may be substituted for Bachelor Degree); and at least Three years of related experience.
