ASRC Federal Holding Company Senior Radar Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland

Job Description

ASRC Federal is in search of a dedicated Radar Engineer to become a pivotal part of our engineering team, stationed on-site at PD SAI within the C5ISR APG campus at the PM SAI office. The chosen individual will act as the go-to Radar Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the team, overseeing all Radar-centric tasks. This includes the oversight of comprehend radar phenomenology, including hardware components, signal processing techniques, antenna design, modeling, and simulation to support Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) radars. Additionally, the role demands a deep-seated knowledge in airborne system, including wide-area ground moving target indicator (GMTI), dismount moving target indicator (DMTI), and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technologies. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the development of system-level and operational requirements for Radar systems.

  • Provide technical engineering support to pre-development activities including architecture, tradeoff and upgrade studies, requirements analysis, and rough order of magnitude cost evaluations.

  • Provide technical engineering requirements support for system design, upgrade, modification, testing, deployment, system sustainment, procurement of components, creation of documentation, system integration, and testing.

  • Provide technical support to assist SAI sustainment personnel in identifying and isolating faulty system software and/or hardware components and restoring the system(s) to full operational capabilities.

  • Provide support to SAI in Army Airworthiness Release processes and activities.

  • Participate classified and unclassified Integrated Product Team (IPT) Meetings.

  • Providing technical recommendations to vendors and team members during IPTs.

  • Travel will be required up to 50% of the time, with the possibility of OCONUS travel.

Requirements :

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Excellent technical management and communication skills to be utilized in overseeing execution and technical accuracy.

  • Understanding and experience with the Army Airworthiness Release (AWR) process and system changes that could impact an AWR.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with the senior military leadership, US Government customers, and Contractors (Prime and Sub).

  • Ability to establish relationships to support program management business rhythms, capture initiatives, and other new requirements as appropriate.

  • Ability to lead multiple teams, manage relationships, and be a key contributor in training efforts.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • At least 12 years of experience in airborne Radar HW/SW design, development, and integration

  • Experience with airborne SAR or GMTI radars.

  • Experience with radar signal processing and RF Design.

  • Experience with radar modeling and simulation.

  • Experience with radar architectures and overseeing the design of radar systems and components.

  • Experience with supporting radar testing and evaluation both in simulated and live environments.

  • Experience with MATLAB or other radar simulation software.

  • Experience with aircraft flight handling and general flight operations and support.

Clearance Requirements

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
