ASRC Federal Holding Company Associate Engineer in AVON PARK, Florida

ASRC Federal Professional Services is seeking an Associate Engineer to join our team. This role will play a crucial role in Avon Park Air Force Range’s engineering projects. The Associate Engineer will work closely with ASRC PM, in-house and Government Project Programmers, AF engineers and subject matter experts in contributing to the design, development, and implementation of various initiatives to meet the current and future needs of the installation. This position is required to work onsite from Avon Park Air Force Range 5 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing Installation Development Plans, identifying project funding, vehicle execution plans, and ensuring the plans meet requirements of Air Force initiatives and business rules.

  • Assist in developing CADD drawings, developing SOW’s, cost estimating, and executing 35% design packages for engineering projects.

  • Conduct research, analyze data.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

  • Develop concept design drawings from general descriptions, design criteria, and standards for approvals.

  • Copies sketches, layouts, and drawings prepared by others on to CAD.

  • Progress designs through various stages of plan development under the direction of ASRC Program Manager.

  • Understand and follow the Air Force's standard CAD procedures for levels, line styles, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.

  • Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.

  • Maintain neat and orderly work area that will allow access to project information to other team members.

  • Play a junior role in large, complex projects.

  • Supervise designs, field construction, and other engineering activities.

  • Coordinate with ASRC Construction inspector, Corp of Engineers inspectors, managers, and specialists.

  • Communicate changes and progress to supervisor, Project Manager or other stakeholders

  • Complete tasks on time and within budget.

  • Respond promptly to customer needs, requests and solicit customer feedback to improve service

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Requirements :

  • An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, architectural or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.

  • 1-3 years of directly related work experience, prefer prior experience with CADD drawings

  • Ability to obtain certifications required by our contract to include Air Force Civil Engineering courses.

  • Proficient in the operation and troubleshooting of computer-aided drafting and design input station

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Basic understanding of Engineering and Architectural Scales

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Ability to pass background check and obtain Government CAC card.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; AutoCAD, MicroStation; Adobe Acrobat and cost estimating software.

  • Ability to follow directions and respond to management direction while maintaining flexibility as changes occur.

  • Must be accurate and thorough.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience utilizing cost estimating software to develop IGE or ROM

  • Ability to travel to offices and client sites within their respective area, using various modes of transportation including automobile and airline.
