ASRC Federal Holding Company Records Management Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts

ASRC Federal Mission Services, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Records Management Specialist 3 to support our nationwide contract to provide the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with library and records management services. Duties include the use of a records management system (database) for search, retrieval, and data entry, applying records retention schedules to files for the purposes of retention, archiving and disposition, and preparation and review of standard operating procedures, training materials, and file plans. Records Management Specialists respond to customer inquiries, participate in records organization projects, provide basic records training, and assist with records imaging. These staff also prepare and ship large batches of records to off-site storage, maintain daily activity statistics, and produce monthly activity reports. A Records Management Specialist 3 serves as the 'public face' for a Task Order, being the primary point-of-contact for the user base of a Records Center, including government employees, members of the public, government contractors, regulated communities, students and educators, and members of the media..The ideal candidate should be organized and detail-oriented.

Requirements :

  • Three years records management experience, including filing paper and electronic records, entering data into records management systems, preparing records for disposition or retiring, and usage of records retention schedules. Experience with at least one automated information system is required.

  • BA/BS strongly preferred.

  • Customer service skills, and strong organizational skills with attention to detail required.

  • Experience with MS Office.

  • Familiarity with modern Project Management methodologies a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and on teams, to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, to prioritize and manage multiple on-going projects, to quickly adapt to change, and to meet deadlines.

  • Physical requirements include full range of arm motion, including lifting above the head, ability to bend, stoop and kneel, ability to routinely lift and carry 40 lbs. in weight, to push or pull 200 lbs. on carts, to push or pull 1200 lbs. via pallet jack, ability to use step ladders to reach materials on upper shelves. Candidate should also be comfortable sitting at computer workstation for long periods of time.
