ASRC Federal Holding Company O&M Electrical Engineer in Cape Canaveral, Florida

Job Summary

  • Provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) engineering for high and medium voltage distribution systems to include Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Support for low voltage power systems and electric metering and power generation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide design review and scoping of low, medium, and high voltage electrical system improvements.

  • Support and participate in weekly Power Distribution System (PDS) meetings and recommend reliability improvements.

  • Assist with high voltage PDS configuration and low voltage facility configuration as necessary.

  • Provide engineering support of Medium Voltage Switch relay configuration to include settings, operation, and maintenance.

  • Produce Medium Voltage configuration studies utilizing modeling software (ETAP).

  • Proficiencies with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

  • Report O&M, SCADA and PDS metric data. Provide engineering support to O&M shops to include test equipment setup, data review and condition assessment.

  • Identify electric PDS weaknesses and seek solutions.

  • Support Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques with proactive tailoring of job plans.

  • Maintain documentation of electrical configuration and reliability for customer identified critical facilities, UPS systems and traffic control devices. Implement multi facets of grounding techniques with concerns for life safety and ordnance.

  • After hour support of spacecraft launch operations may be required.

Requirements :

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering required. Zero (0) to two (2) years of O&M experience in high/medium/low voltage infrastructure systems, SCADA, relays, and electrical distribution systems.

  • Knowledge of NEC and IEEE preferred.

  • Professional Engineer certification desired but not required.

  • Must possess a current security clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. US Citizenship is required for obtaining a security clearance.

Work Environment:

  • Standard administrative/office environment. Computers and associated office equipment will be available as required. Working in a field environment also required.

  • Physical location and workstation space may comply with standards established by the USAF or USSF facility space requirements and may require working close to others. Use of audio equipment may be used without interference to others. Use of headphones or similar equipment may be used if devices do not impair or restrict effectiveness of fire or other safety alarms or notices.

Physical Requirements :

  • Field work will be required to investigate new construction/repair project requirements and evaluate/assess existing facility and infrastructure systems. Walking, standing, & sitting. Use of stairs is required to access the work environment.
