ASRC Federal Holding Company Painter Maintenance in Charleston, South Carolina
SUMMARY: ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Sprull Avenue). We are currently looking for a Maintenance Painter to play a crucial role in ensuring the pristine condition of our facilities and its surroundings. ASRC Federal is centered on being part of a team and being included in an easy-going environment.
Description:
Completes assigned painting projects with quality workmanship by preparing surfaces for painting using sandpaper, power sanders, steel wool, wire brushes, scrappers, paint removers and chemicals.
Filling nail holes, cracks, or joints with putty, plaster or other fillers.
Practices preventive maintenance of painting tools and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition.
Maintain inventory of supplies like paint brushes, roller, tarps, tape, plaster and paint.
Make on-site preparations such as covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with making tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
Collaborating with other design and construction specialists
Perform final inspection to ensure quality and accuracy of work.
Contributes to the overall success of Facilities Maintenance by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Must have at least 5 years' experience in commercial or residential painting
High School Diploma or GED Preferred
Superb attention to detail
Clear and effective written and communication skills
Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
Capability of using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
Must have great time management/initiative and be able to meet deadlines.
Must be able to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.
Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug test, and physical exam.
Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen.
Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license and able to operate a motor vehicle.
