ASRC Federal Holding Company Painter Maintenance in Charleston, South Carolina

SUMMARY: ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Sprull Avenue). We are currently looking for a Maintenance Painter to play a crucial role in ensuring the pristine condition of our facilities and its surroundings. ASRC Federal is centered on being part of a team and being included in an easy-going environment.

Description:

  • Completes assigned painting projects with quality workmanship by preparing surfaces for painting using sandpaper, power sanders, steel wool, wire brushes, scrappers, paint removers and chemicals.

  • Filling nail holes, cracks, or joints with putty, plaster or other fillers.

  • Practices preventive maintenance of painting tools and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition.

  • Maintain inventory of supplies like paint brushes, roller, tarps, tape, plaster and paint.

  • Make on-site preparations such as covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with making tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.

  • Collaborating with other design and construction specialists

  • Perform final inspection to ensure quality and accuracy of work.

  • Contributes to the overall success of Facilities Maintenance by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 5 years' experience in commercial or residential painting

  • High School Diploma or GED Preferred

  • Superb attention to detail

  • Clear and effective written and communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.

  • Capability of using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)

  • Must have great time management/initiative and be able to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug test, and physical exam.

  • Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen.

  • Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license and able to operate a motor vehicle.
