ASRC Federal Holding Company Senior Systems Engineer (supporting Air Force Research Lab) in Edwards AFB, California

ASRC Federal requires a highly motivated Systems and Instrumentation Engineer to support the ASTROS Contract. We are looking for someone with a desire to support cutting edge research in the build-up of test facilities, serve as a resource for pre-test analysis and the ability to manage several projects. The successful candidate will be part of a team of that supports our Test areas by performing planning analysis, review process and procedures, assist in test stand Instrumentation, and support some Project Management. ASRC Federal is supporting cutting edge propulsion systems testing at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and we are looking to add to our team of great people to be a part of this research.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to support both customer and ASRC Federal Senior Test Engineers by reviewing plans and procedures and provide key input to ensure test success.

  • Perform engineering analysis, and review instrumentation set-ups.

  • Brief Customers and Contract management of Test Status and walk through test readiness prior to receiving permission to test.

  • Will be required to stay abreast of the test stand work progress and provide expert advice to the test team technicians and site leadership.

  • Will be required to manage several projects for the contract.

  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.

This position is offering a pay range of $140,000 - $220,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. Requirements :

  • Be responsible to ensure chemical and material safety is planned into every aspect of Test Area Buildup.

  • Attend test program concept briefs and offer requirements to assist the test program start their build-up in compliance with safety, environmental and quality.

  • Manage a portfolio of projects and ensure the project is meeting the customer requirements laid out in the approved Work Plan.

  • Evaluate all test program standard operating procedures and test operations procedures and resolve all safety issues and coordinate with quality assurance manager to analyze all safety requirements.

  • Participate in various test site reviews and when necessary, recommend modifications to existing design and ensure compliance to all organization requirements and administer all human safety.

  • Participate in all test activities, evaluate all system engineering documents, and ensure compliance to all safety requirements.

  • Ensure all pre-test requirements are met before allowing test are briefed to the AFRL Command.

  • Review and monitor all AFRL safety policies and instructions and communicate all changes to the AFRL management staff.

  • Evaluate all AF system safety engineering requirements.

  • Must be able to gain access to the customer’s computer networks.

  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.

  • Will be required to work, at times, outdoors in extreme cold and hot weather.

  • Will be required to plan each task or job with other co-workers before beginning.

  • Will be required to drive an ASTROS leased vehicle.

Education/Experience:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree

  • 10 years of related experience

Clearance:

  • Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
