ASRC Federal Holding Company Business Analyst in Remote,
ASRC Federal is seeking a Business Analyst to support an upcoming USDA contract.
Location: Remote opportunity
Clearance: Public Trust - must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and be able to successfully complete a government issues background investigation.
Summary:
The Business Analyst will elicit functional objectives from the customer’s business subject matter experts and create detailed system specifications for software development. The successful candidate will analyze and document complex systems to develop the next generation of analysis and reporting systems. Prior experience as a software developer or DBA with fluent abilities in developing SQL queries is beneficial. Experience with design technical specifications that utilize COTS frameworks, such as SAS Business Intelligence (BI), Salesforce, or similar components are highly desirable.
This position requires advanced knowledge of systems analysis and design methods sufficient to design information systems for government enterprise applications.
R esponsibilities:
Research processes and requirements surrounding interactions between the government and its customers, including individuals and organizations.
Operate in an Agile software development environment while satisfying the government’s Waterfall-style project stage gates.
Write documents and develop project deliverables such as Functional Requirements Specifications, Business Requirements Document and Requirements Traceability Matrix.
Interact daily with software developers to provide clarification on requirements and feedback on implementation.
Meet regularly with government subject matter experts to capture business requirements.
Collaborate among cross-functional technical teams to reconcile new business requirements with the integration of legacy systems.
Contribute to technical designs, including detailed data flows and data schemas.
Convert high-level development tasks into detailed, actionable work items for developers by capturing and defining low-level technical requirements.
Analyzing and data modeling to ensure data integration across systems
Providing feasibility feedback and identification of errors and omissions in business requirements and collaborating with business analysts and business sponsors to resolve related issues
Requirements:
Exceptional communication skills in English – both written and oral – and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical IT stakeholders
Ability to work in a team environment under the direction of a technical lead
Ability to clearly document design requirements and other project-related technical documentation
Experience defining requirements for web applications and verifying an application has satisfied a given requirement
Strong Object-Oriented design skills
Solid understanding of relational database concepts
Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Experience in Agile Development Methodology, especially Scrum
Ability to multi task and work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
Ability to successfully complete a government issues background investigation.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a business analyst, system analyst, or similar role.
Minimum of 15 years of relevant development experience in lieu of a college degree.

Experience using Confluence and Jira
Experience working in a federal government IT environment

Experience using REST approach in software development
Experience in Agile development methodoligies, such as Scrum
