ASRC Federal Holding Company Site Safety Officer in Huntsville, Alabama

ASRC Federal is seeking to identify a Site Safety Officer in anticipation of upcoming work in Huntsville, AL

Active clearance from either the FBI or the Department of Defense (DOD) is a prerequisite, with the capability to obtain an FBI Clearance if not already possessed.

This will include support of a proposal effort – contingent offer will be extended

Overview:

The Site Safety Supervisor will assist the Project Staff and the safety team in implementing corporate safety and health standards and procedures in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Your responsibilities will be comprehensive for each project to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a zero-injury safety culture on each project

  • Conduct weekly documented jobsite safety inspections

  • Direct orientations for all new project workers

  • Assist with and review subcontractor daily pre-task safety analysis

  • Identify project trends and execute proactive safety initiatives to eliminate incidents

  • Report all incidents in an effective and timely manner

Requirements :

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health or equivalent field

  • Minimum 3 years of site safety experience and in building construction, with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques

  • Minimum 1 year of field experience required

  • Understanding of applicable Federal, State and Local safety and environmental regulations (EM 385, OSHA, EPA, ADEM, etc.)

  • Computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Team player, leader and motivated to learn and take ownership and accountability.

  • Change agent, demonstrating courageous leadership driving and continuous improvement mindset.

  • Must be a US Citizen. Possess an active Secret clearance or higher.

  • Be able to successfully complete a government issued background investigation.

Physical requirements:

  • Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Able to work at heights, able to climb ladders, access/inspect scaffolding and roof areas.

  • Noise level is usually moderate to very loud.

Tools/Technology/Certifications:

  • Must have current safety and environmental training (OSHA 30 hour for General Industry)
