ASRC Federal Holding Company Engineer, Senior Manager in Kennedy Space Center, Florida

Position : Engineer, Senior Manager

Location : Kennedy Space Center, FL

ASRC Federal Space and Defense brings a 14-year history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies.

ASRC Federal Space and Defense provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.

Title: Engineering, Senior Manager

ASRC Federal has an opening for a middle level Manager at the Kennedy Space Center. Primarily responsible for managing subordinate management, and/or experienced professionals (e.g., engineers, program planners, quality engineers and configuration analysts) in the manufacture and testing of the Orion Muti-Purpose Crew Vehicle (Orion MPCV) spacecraft that will transport astronauts to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit including the Moon and Deep Space Exploration such as Mars.

Organizationally responsible and accountable for the engineering, quality, and improving manufacturing processes used to assembly, install, repair and test the Orion MPCV and associated ground support equipment. Analyze technology and other resources and assess the feasibility of using technology. Establishing engineering procedures and technical operating policies, and workflow plans.

Performing functions such as interviewing, selecting and training employees; setting and adjusting their rates of pay, hours worked, and appraising employee productivity efficiency, and development. Setting specific technical goals within outlines provided by the customer. Interpreting company policies and procedures as well as maintaining legal and ethical obligations. Handling employee complaints and grievances, disciplining them when necessary, and providing a safe work environment. Developing budgets, schedules and performance standards. Accountable for meeting program objectives and timelines.

Interacts regularly with internal and external customers and management, including senior level management representatives concerning program objectives, scheduling requirements, engineering issues and contractual clarifications. Consults and negotiates with customers to prepare for new work and serve as a technical expert.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 7 -- 9 years of management experience.
