We are seeking a Technical Operations Manager for our NASA NACS High Performance Computing contract.
Summary : You will be an active member of the ASRC Federal account leadership team reporting directly to the Site Lead and working with our NASA customer to oversee the 24/7 Control Room, Networking Team, IT Security, and Facilities. To keep stakeholders informed, you be attending regularly scheduled customer meetings to report status on all going activities within your domain and answer customer inquiries concerning all aspects of the various the program.
An individual at this skill level should have demonstrated his/her management experience through prior leadership of technical teams and projects, and should have experience in mentoring and leading others in team environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Operational Aspects of the NASA Ames HPC program including: Network Operations, IT Security, 24/7 Control Room Monitoring, and Facilities Management
Oversee projects from your respective groups using program defined project management best practices overseen by the Site Lead
Deliver products consistently, on time, and on budget
Timely reporting of all operational, project, and contract areas
Delegate technical responsibilities and monitor progress of projects
Conduct interviews, hire, and train new technical support/IT staff
Balance and prioritize work in a dynamic environment
Manage and continually improve process documentation and knowledge bases

Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related discipline plus 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated people management skills with prior direct people leadership responsibilities preferred (5 to 10 years of experience managing technical groups)
Experience with Data Center and/or High Performance Computing (HPC) related environments and technologies
Technical background (programming, IT operations, system administration)
Highly analytical and effective troubleshooting skills in quickly diagnosing and resolving customer problems
Have a passion for technology and how to guide and motivate staff to solve NASA's IT/high-performance computing challenges
Ability to interpret and scope requirements and translate them into concrete deliverables
Demonstrated project management experience in leading simple to moderate complexity projects
Impeccable organization skills to balance and prioritize activities
Strong ability to interact with customers, understand needs, elicit requirements, and get feedback on prototype solutions in an intimate environment
Great communication skills to communicate with support personnel, government leads, and contract managers, and sub-contractors.
You must be a US Citizen and be able to pass the NASA background check.
PMP or ITIL Certification
Master's Degree in related field
Knowledge of ML/AI environments
