ASRC Federal Holding Company Executive Chef/Head Chef in North Charleston, South Carolina

SUMMARY: ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Sprull Avenue). We are looking for a Head Chef.

Description:

  • Assist the Food Service Managers as needed with overall daily operations

  • Exceptional communication skills and professionalism

  • Oversee and direct kitchen staff, Vegetable prep room and Bake shop management

  • Ensure quality of food items

  • Embody team building and teamwork concept

  • Must be able to set the tone of the kitchen and lead kitchen staff daily

  • Create an exceptional experience for customers and guests

  • Plan and Direct food preparation and culinary activities

  • Create new menus while being able to source vendors, food and equipment as directed

  • Must understand cost estimates and resource management

  • Assist with food preparation and inspect the food quality

  • Rectify arising problems or complaints

  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and government safety standards

  • Maintain inventory, ordering and schedule under guidance of Food Services Director

  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

  • Stay knowledgeable and up to date with culinary arts, including new food trends

SUMMARY: ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in North Charleston (FLETC Federal Complex off Spruill Avenue). We are looking for a Executive Chef.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in a head chef or managerial kitchen position

  • SERV SafeĀ® Food Protection Certification

  • Culinary Arts degree preferred**

  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, organized and have excellent communication skills

  • Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Must be comfortable in Microsoft Office suite skills to include Word, Outlook and Excel

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Proven leadership and creative abilities inside the kitchen

  • Must be able to take constructive criticism and work well in a team dynamic

  • Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive with a strong attention to detail

  • Must be able to work a flexible shift based on need including some weekends and Holidays

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with assistance

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug test, and physical exam
