Position : Records Management Specialist 3

Location : San Francisco, CA

ASRC Federal Mission Services, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Records Management Specialist 3 (RMS 3) to support our on-going programs at the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in San Francisco, CA.

ASRC Federal Mission Services holds a nationwide contract for library and records management services with the EPA. ASRC librarians, records managers and support staff collect, organize and maintain library and records materials; assist EPA and external customers with document delivery, reference and research services, etc.

The RMS 3 is responsible for the successful completion of assigned tasks as directed by the Records Information Manager 4 (RIM 4) / Task Order Manager (TOM), including assisting the team in providing records management support on the program. Tracking record and information assets throughout the records lifecycle -- from receipt to disposition; and capturing information assets. The capture of information may include cataloging, data entry, scanning, and file transfer. Conduct inventories as directed in accordance with guidance, standards, forms and materials provided by the EPA National Records Management Program or developed specifically for this Task Order. Communicate progress and challenges and ensure that requests from the Client are handled in accordance with approved EPA/ASMS protocols. Provide weekly reports of activities to the Task Order Manager. Exceptional communication, research, and customer service skills needed.

  • Background in records management, library services or similar experience strongly desired

  • High School diploma required. Bachelors degree or two years of records management /library related experience preferred

  • Experience with various types of databases, records management software

  • Concern for detail and quality assurance requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, work individually or as a team member, and meet deadlines;

  • Proven work experience in a customer-focused role

  • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel

  • Ability to prioritize activities in a deadline-driven work environment

  • Self-motivated and highly organized with great attention to detail

Experience with Electronic Content Management Systems very useful

Additional Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident status in order to pass a government sponsored background investigation.
