Clearance: Must be a US Citizen to meet contract requirements.
Summary: Support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrator (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Line Office; with possibility to support NASA contract as well. The primary technology in use for this position will be Microsoft SharePoint, but the individual will have the opportunity to work with other technologies and all aspects of web development.
Roles and Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the business users and other IT groups to design, build, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites and site collections
Develop and maintain custom server-side solutions with Visual Studio including timer jobs, event receivers, and webparts
Automate Business Processes using SharePoint 2013 Workflow capabilities within SharePoint Designer
Plan, create, configure, customize, check, and remedy issues related to SharePoint Sites and user requirements
Create dashboards based on key performance indicators
Create and/or implement graphical design for customer SharePoint site branding
Manage site collection permissions
Provide user training, documentation, and support
Applicant will be expected to participate in meetings at NOAA Headquarters in Silver Spring, MD on a regular basis.
Experience in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile Development practices
Experience using Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, .NET Framework, and C#
Understanding of Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016 Architecture and best practices
Good foundation and working knowledge of relational databases is a plus
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
Bachelor's degree in a computer science or related field
1 - 2 years of relevant work experience
