ASRC Federal Holding Company Risk Coordinator - NASA Headquarters in Washington, District Of Columbia

ASRC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking a Risk Coordinator to support a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD.

Responsibilities:

Seeking an experienced mid-to-senior level Risk Coordinator to fulfill the following duties:

  • Provide mid-to-senior level Risk Coordinator services for the Mars Sample Return (MSR) program at NASA HQ; this is an excellent opportunity to support the new Mars Sample Return mission which will result in returning the very first sample from another planet.

  • Identify pertinent program risks and craft clear, complete, concise, and actionable risk statements.

  • Track action items, status, and deliverable dates; identifying potential delays and notifying the appropriate parties.

  • Establish, design, implement, and maintain a program-specific Risk Management (RM) process integral to achieving mission success.

  • Work with MSR project risk managers/coordinators on ensuring project deliverables to the program are submitted in a timely manner.

  • Lead the RM initiative by setting objectives and providing guidance in achieving goals.

  • Prepare for, and facilitate, program Risk Management Board meetings.

  • Interface with all levels of MSR program management to ensure timely and accurate information.

  • Participate in the coordination of RM initiatives and best practices, and circulating lessons learned to MSR team members as appropriate.

  • Coordination of gate reviews including documentation needed, agenda, etc.

  • Integration and editing of MSR HQ PO material for various presentations.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • This is a highly visible level position that places a heavy emphasis on punctuality and professionalism.

  • Thorough understanding of Continuous Risk Management (CRM) and Risk Informed Decision Making (RIDM).

  • Sufficient knowledge and experience to document a program-specific Risk Management process in a Risk Management Plan, obtain project approval, as well as SMA concurrence.

  • An understanding of typical Risk Management processes for NASA projects, is a strong plus.

  • Completion of the NASA SATERN course, ABC’s of Risk Management (Course GSFC-PC-ABCRM) is a strong plus.

  • Has advanced knowledge, and use, of at least one risk repository tool (e.g., spreadsheet, database, COTS product).

  • Proficient in advanced RM techniques, applying accumulated knowledge and judgment to project/program RM leadership/decision making.

  • Experience with Risk Audits is preferable.

  • Individual must be able to report on-site, as needed, to satisfy the job requirements.

  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA Centers and HQ. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of related experience or eight (8) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
